Kelly A. Turner, PhD – Founder
Kelly A. Turner, PhD is the New York Times bestselling author of Radical Remission and Radical Hope, now in 22 languages, which summarize her research into radical remissions – when someone heals from cancer or another serious illness in a statistically unlikely way, such as without conventional medicine or after conventional medicine has failed.
Over the past fifteen years, she has conducted research in 10 different countries and analyzed over 1,500 cases of radical remission. She is a frequent guest on The Dr. Oz Show and holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Most recently, Kelly has adapted her bestselling book into a fictional, feature-length screenplay entitled OPEN-ENDED TICKET which was a finalist for the Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab. This film tells the story of a cancer patient who takes her best friend on an around-the-world journey to try to find her estranged father before it’s too late. In their race against time, a string of unexpected events makes them question everything they thought they knew about life, death, and healing.
Finally, Kelly also created and directed a docuseries that explores each of the 10 healing factors from her research, and features many of the Radical Remission survivors from the books. This docuseries had a beta-screening to our private mailing list March 2020, and we hope to air it again soon. She is also the founder of the Radical Remission Project website, which continues to collect new cases of Radical Remission and offers online courses, in-person workshops, and one-on-one health coaching.
Tara Flanagan – Director of Content
Tara Flanagan entered the advertising and marketing world with a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia before following her entrepreneurial drive to open a group of successful cafés in New York City and Charlottesville, Virginia. A shocking diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer in 2017 led Tara to examine her work/life balance, and she discovered that she was quite deficient in nourishing her spirit. After closing her businesses so she could focus on healing and exploring the world of complementary integrative medicine, she discovered Radical Remission and became a certified instructor in 2019. Having experienced the loss of her sister in 2006 to aggressive cancer with only conventional medicine strategies applied, Tara feels strongly that the hopeful messages from Radical Remission survivors will reach every corner of the globe to inspire faith in healing the mind, body, and spirit simultaneously.
Tara is focused on mapping out a strategy for increasing global awareness of Radical Remission through digital content, as well as developing strategic relationships with leaders in media, finance, and healthcare who can help our mission of bringing hope to those managing cancer or chronic illness. Tara is a co-founder of the Radical Remission Livestream Workshop, acting as producer and presenter to 600 participants from nearly every continent. She was honored to present Dr. Turner’s research on intuition to the UK’s “Yes to Life! Your Life & Cancer 2020 Summit” alongside respected physicians, including Dr. Keith Block of the Block Center for Integrative Cancer Treatment.
Tara lives in Brooklyn, NY with her 10-year-old daughter and puts travel at the top of her list for recharging her spirit. Having spent her early childhood living abroad in Naples, she strives to get back to Italy annually to enjoy all of the amazing local produce, zest for life, and slowed-down pace the Italian lifestyle affords.
