Please summarize your healing story in 100 words or less Adding 15 g of Omega-3 to my daily diet was the only thing I changed, after being diagnosed in 2000 with inoperable stage 4 lung cancer at age 74. Otherwise my diet and lifestyle remained unchanged. After 3 months, my monthly CT scan showed the tumors were reducing in size. By 2005 the tumors had reduced to 10% of their original size. Today, 20 years later, I am cancer free and now 93. I take 3 g of Omega-3 daily for prevention.

Briefly describe your diagnosis method and conventional treatments, including their timing. Did they help at all?

I went to see my doctor about a cough I had in July 2000. He took an x-ray and it showed I had stage 4 lung cancer. Malignant fibrous histiocytoma with multiple lesions in both lungs. I was age 74.

Please tell us your healing story in as much detail as you would like:

I decided to see my doctor in Reno in 2000, about what I called a social cough. My doctor took an x-ray, found stage 4 cancer throughout both lungs. Technically, I had malignant fibrous histiocytoma with multiple lesions in both lungs. My doctor told me I had a couple of months to live and that there was nothing more they could do. I had smoked from age 15 to age 40, cigarettes, pipes and cigars. When I quit in 1965, I had been smoking maybe 10 cigars a day. But interestingly, the doctors said that the cancer was not due to smoking.

I told this to my neighbor Dr. Ron Pardini who lives across the street and is a PhD biochemist in the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources at the University of Nevada at Reno, Nevada. Dr. Pardini later became the Dean of that department. Ron said he had been doing some mouse studies, giving mice cancer and then curing them with large doses of Omega 3. Suggested I give it a try. I did. I took 15,000 mg (15 g) daily of Omega-3 spread throughout the day, with a DHA/EPA ratio of 3:1. In 3 months the cancer was noticed to be reversing as shown by monthly CT scans. Ron told me to avoid corn products because of the Omega 6s in corn that are inflammatory. Other than that, I kept my usual diet. I will occasionally eat salmon and other fish, but not much meat. 17 years later at age 91, I take 3,000 mg of Omega-3 every day,

My cancer is completely gone, and I have spoken to and helped many, many hundreds of people who had cancer. Different kinds of cancer too, not just lung cancer. Not all were helped, but a lot were. My doctors saw what I accomplished, but could not advise other cancer patients to do what I did, for fear of reprisal. So with my permission, the physicians would hand my phone number to their patients and tell them to give me a call. It was remarkable, and heartwarming that the physicians did this.

Five years ago, I got a call from a mid 30s woman who had been battling jaw cancer. She had been treated in Texas by perhaps the country's leading cancer center, with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgical removal of her jaw bone and replacement with a prosthetic jaw bone. Cancer still came back. The cancer center said there was nothing more they could do for her. She and her husband discovered Dr. Pardini's study, spoke to me, started taking the Omega-3, and in 3 months her cancer began to reverse.

I take 3 of these 1,000 mg Omega-3 pills daily for maintenance. When I was treating my cancer, I took 15,000 mg (15 g) of Omega-3 daily, but the pills were less concentrated back then, so I had to take more pills to get the correct amount. There are probably other Omega-3 sources out there that are also quite good.

Throughout each year, I get a lot of cards and notes from folks I've talked to about their cancers. What they tell me is very gratifying to hear, and I'm glad to have been able to help them. And as someone given a few months to live back 17 years ago, I'm very grateful to share my life with my daughter and her husband, and my grandkids, all thanks to my neighbor Dr. Ron Pardini across the street.

Do you have any thoughts about what may have caused your health challenge in particular, or what causes it in general?

My lung cancer may have been caused by my earlier years of smoking. I reversed my cancer by changing just one thing in my life. I added 15,000 mg (15 g) of daily Omega-3s, with a DHA/EPA ratio of 3:1 as suggested by my friend Dr. Ron Pardini, PhD. That's all I did. In 30 days my stage 4 lung cancer tumors stopped growing. In 90 days they started to shrink. And in 2 years I was 99% tumor free. Given a few months to live at age 74 in 2000, I'm now doing fine 17 years later at age 91 and have shared my info with many hundreds of people who have all types of cancer. Dr. Pardini believes that Omega-3 can help in the battle against virtually all cancers.
