Please summarize your healing story in 100 words or less I grew up in a stressful home environment where I was abused as a child. I internalized the pain and consequently I became chronically ill from the time I was a teenager. One of my most challenging health problems has been ulcerative colitis and systemic candida Krusei. I refused biological drugs from day one. After learning as much as I could about UC & Crohn’s Disease, I drastically changed my lifestyle and my diet. I worked on detoxing and I became a more positive thinker. Eventually I was able to reverse ulcerative colitis. I relied on different modalities like my spirituality, nutrition, herb and even some pharmaceutical medications. After targeting my gut & repopulating the good bacteria in my intestinal microbiome, I am now in a deep state of remission so complete that my doctors cannot find ANY trace of UC inside of me anymore. I beat a supposedly incurable disease!

Story

Briefly describe your diagnosis method and conventional treatments, including their timing. Did they help at all?

I was diagnosed via colonoscopies, biopsies & blood work. I used a steroid foam and mesalamine pills. The foam is what mainly helped me. Mesalamine didn’t seem to help at all.

Please tell us your healing story in as much detail as you would like:

In the beginning I practiced the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (GAPS) until I achieved remission. It took several months to stop my flare. Once I was in a solid remission I switched to an all organic, gmo free, Ketogenic diet. I am completely 100% gluten free. I never cheat regarding gluten due to the inflammatory nature of gluten. I am roughly 80% dairy free. I only allow plain yogurt, plain organic kefir & small amounts of hard cheese. I don’t drink coffee, I drink green tea. I cook with & I drink bone broth a couple of times a week (this is essential for rebuilding the gut lining). I made raw vegetable juice & I make homemade green drinks in a high powered blender such as a vita mix blender. I rotate my greens every week to something different. I always use avocado & banana to make my green drinks creamy & delicious. I use all fresh ingredients in an organic unfiltered apple juice base. I always add coconut oil, fresh lemon, fresh ginger root & cinnamon powder. I supplement with L-Glutamine powder by Metagenics. L-Glutamine rebuilds the gut mucosa. I take high powered probiotics (various different brands). I rarely eat processed foods & I never eat fast food. I still eat meat but only clean meats- Grass fed beef, bison, wild salmon, no bottom feeders, no raw fish & no pork. I eat sauerkraut every single day. I drink Gut Shots & Kraut Shots for the natural probiotics. They can be found at most health food stores. You can find all of the stuff above online or at health food stores. I also supplement with Vit D3, Methylated B12, CoQ10, various amino acids, Magnesium & glutathione among others supplements. I take probiotics daily. I was very sick in the beginning stages of my diagnosis. Now my remission is so complete that my gastroenterologist cannot find any trace that I ever had ulcerative colitis/Crohn’s... not even at a microscopic level. It took me months to years to heal. It requires patience. It took several years for the urgency & cramping to go away. The bleeding stopped within the first six months. I never bleed anymore. Now a flare might look like a little bit of mucous & skinny stools. Maybe some mild burning but that’s about it. I still get mild sores in my mouth & acid reflux from time to time depending on what I eat but it is usually triggered by poor food choices and/or stress. The only medications I ever used to treat irritable bowel disease are Mesalamine, CortiFoam. I have never used a Biological drug. I believe that healing from IBD requires rebuilding the intestinal microbiome (the balance of healthy bacteria in the gut). The information above is the best way that I know how to do it. My doctors call me a miracle but I’m not. I believe that most people can achieve the same results that I have achieved if they can find a path that works for them. I never made excuses or whined or complained over all of the foods that I couldn’t eat anymore. For me it was a life or death decision. I chose healing over suffering. I had to forgive people that have hurt me. I had to change a lot within myself. I had to let go of the past. I’m very happy that I succeeded and I wish the same for every single person out there that is living with a chronic illness.

Do you have any thoughts about what may have caused your health challenge in particular, or what causes it in general?

I believe that childhood abuse and constant stress are what enabled illness to take over my body. I didn’t have the self love that I needed to be healthy and I internalized my pain and the rejection I felt from my family.
